December 25, 2009, Newsletter Issue #29: Be A Stickler For Resume Accuracy

Tip of the Week

This tip is Resume 102. You already have a clear, brief resume that you managed to fit on one page. But if you really want your resume to stand out, make the extra effort and review it again with the following points in mind:

· Make sure that your license and certification information is correct, and include the dates when the certification was obtained and the states in which it applies.

· Proofread your resume. And then ask someone else to proofread it.

· Provide a current e-mail address or phone number that is separate from a work e-mail or phone number. If you need to, create a new e-mail account on Yahoo or Gmail to use for your job search.

· Have references handy. You don’t need to take up valuable space on your resume with references, but it’s important to have a list of two or three people that you can provide or e-mail to prospective employers.

Physician recruiting companies can help you in your search for your next permanent physician job. A physician staffing consultant who knows your specialty can save you time by matching physician employment opportunities with the skills on your resume.
